A bar magnet is pushed from to right completely through a loop of metal wire, as shown in the figures above. The two possible directions for current in the loop are also show. Which of the following indicate the directions of the induced current in the loop, if any, as the magnet is moving through the positions shown? Figure 1 Magnetic field direction toward right, Magnetic flux is increasing. so the current in the loop should have a magnetic field opposite to the magnetic field inside the loop. So current direction is Direction 1. Figure 2 Magnetic field direction toward right, Magnetic flux is decreasing. so the current in the loop should have a magnetic field same as the magnetic field inside the loop. So current direction is Direction 2.
